Different units of the National Guard from Louisiana and other states have been helping residents remove appliances and other large pieces of furniture from homes. There is a waiting list and it may take thirty days or more before a unit can come to your home.

It is hard to insist when your dealing with the ins. co. Also my homeowners which still hasn't settled says that for the displacement part of the policy pays for only 14 days, but we're still unable to return to our homes to live. What gives?

The parish seems to be saying if we're not ready they won't demolish the house for free. How do we know when to be ready?
