Do I need more memory and can I get it?

Category is PC Hardware

My computer seems to run too slowly. I'm wondering if I can safely add some RAM. It has a 1-gig cpu; the motherboard has three slots for RAM and they are all filled with 128 meg. chips/cards therefore amounting to 384 meg of memory. I run WIN XP PRO w/Service Pack 2 and so on. I also have and run fairly often Adobe Photoshop; don't know how significant that is but am told it's a pretty powerful program. It seems logical that I may need more memory but what can I do if all slots are already filled?

Thanks in advance!

Louisiana FAIR Plan Unfair?

Category is Louisiana

Did anyone else notice that when they renewed their insurance policy that it included money for the LA Fair Plan? I have insurance with State Farm but still had to pay into the LA Fair Plan. I was told it is a new rule. Why should I have to pay into a plan that I will not be able to file any losses against? Was I still in my Katrina fog when this rule passed? Can someone enlighten me on this?

Sharing a DSL or Other Broadband Connection

Category is Internet/Web Services

I have a Dell computer that is 4 years old which is working fine. I just bought a new Dell so the grandkids who live at my house can have their own to use. I have a BelLSouth DSL Internet connection and would like to know how difficult it would be to (or if it could be done at all) to put the old computer on the same DSL line instead of having to get another connection for it. As you can guess I am an old maw-maw and don't have great knowledge about computers. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Also, when glass breaks, how fast are the cracks?

I have answers to both of these but some are doubting me...the first one is sleeping and the second one is 5,000 km an hour.
